A Spanish archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, Macaronesia, but normally known as the Canary Islands. It includes the islands Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera, La Graciosa and some smaller islands like Isla de Lobos. El Hierro

This island is best known for its great diversity! It is home to unique cliffs, 800 volcanos, natural swimming pools with crystal clear water and lots more! The lagoons Charco Manso in the north of the island, and Charco Azul in the west are definitely worth a stop! The coast offers you many possibilities to just relax at the beach and enjoy the amazing views or to explore the underwater world thanks to the very blue water! If you are more into hiking and climbing, don’t worry the hilly landscape of El Hierro has a lot of hiking Trails and mountains to go to! The most famous and highest one is the ‘Golfo Malpaso’ with 1500 m! Coming from the capital Valverde you can also get there by car in about 35 minutes!


In contrast to El Hierro, you won't find many trees on this island, but trust me, the landscapes are still as beautiful! It is one of the most famous islands of the archipelago, and this for many reasons! The volcanic landscapes with their unique shades stand in contrast to the blue of the Atlantic Ocean as well as to the white colored houses in the villages! A place that is definitely worth a visit is the Timanfaya National Park! Here you can visit many volcano craters and try some of the best food on the Canary Islands in 'El Diablo' restaurant, where the food is cooked using the heat of the earth! In general, Lanzarote has a lot to offer considering the gastronomy: The volcanic, ash-covered soil are very good for vineyards...producing the famous vine ‘Malvasía’. Another popular dish are the ‘patatas arrugadas’, wrinkled potatoes. A very important figure of the island is César Manrique. He was a painter and artist and tried to conserve the environment of the island with nature inspired artwork! You can visit his house ‘Casa del Volcan’ with viewpoints, lava tubes, and cacti!

La Palma

La Palma, 'La Isla bonita, translated to the ‘Beautiful Island’’. It is a Biosphere Reserve, therefore many parks and landscapes are protected! The Caldera de Taburiente National Park is probably the most known one and because of the volcanic lava it created a coastline with hidden bays and rocky hills! Another place that is worth seeing is the ‘Mirador de la Cumbrecita’ a viewpoint that allows you to see the amazing green landscape! A cultural highlight that you could see on your trip is around carnival ‘Los Indios’ with dances and performances as well as at the famous performances during ‘La Semana Grande’ and ‘La Semana Chica'! Also very known are the 'Dance of the Dwarves'.


The island that has something to offer for every kind of tourist... beaches, volcanic scenery, green landscapes, it's amazing cuisine and different shopping opportunities. Places to visit are Costa de Adeje, cliffs of Los Gigantes, and some of the best beaches are Playa de las Americas, Las Vistas Beach and Los Cristianos. If you want to visit some cities on the island you could go to San Cristóbal de la Laguna, a small town with a historical center. Santa Cruz, Tenerife´s capital, also has some sights like La Plaza de España and García Sanabria Park. A highlight of the island is probably the 'Teide National Park', a Worldsite heritage, with Spain’s highest mountain, Teide.Other islands of the Canary Islands you should visit are La Gomera with the Maspalomas and Fuerteventura with long white sand beaches!
